Lal Bahadur Library and Reading Room, Karayil

Karayil Lal Bahadur Library is located in Karayil, Near Payyanur. The Library celebrated the Golden Jubilee year in 2017. Lal Bahadur Library is the pride of Payyannur, the cultural capital of North Kerala. This institution has been able to contribute to the social and cultural growth of the country. This shrine of knowledge was established here by the brave patriots who fought to save the country from foreign domination .

The Library was set up in 1967 with the initiative of freedom fighter K,C Kunhirama Poduval. Lal Bahadur Library in Karayil was inaugurated by Shri. K Kelappan famous freedom fighter who is known as Kerala Gandhi in 1967 September 30.

The initial building of the library gave away for the public development activities later. A few years back a fress initiative was taken to construct a new building. This Library is designed in the form of a bookshelf.
